Fenton Vets Environmental, Social, and Governance Values
Who We Are
Fenton Vets are a veterinary practice that has separate dedicated vet teams to treat either farm animals or pets across Pembrokeshire; both within and outside opening hours.
The practice can trace its origins back to 1950, so has had plenty of changes over the years, but crucially we remain proudly independent, owned and operated by a core team of senior vets.
These directors recognise their responsibility towards environmental, social and governance values, and how those affect our colleagues, community and the services we offer.
Environmental
Please find our Environmental Policy here.
Social
We wish our business to have a positive impact for our colleagues and community.
We are an inclusive and flexible employer, and aim for our maximum working week to be below the industry average hours.
We embrace learning and development of individuals and the team. Have social and team building events outside the workplace as well as internal training, and reviews.
Employees have access to colleagues with Mental Health First Aid training, and a BUPA helpline.
Governance
We are committed to the Royal Veterinary College Practice Standards Scheme, and its standards across clinical, people and process areas.
We pay at least the real living wage. https://www.livingwage.org.uk/what-real-living-wage
We try to focus and choose locally in how we support other businesses, events and charities.
We also recognise a wider responsibility towards our industry. We actively support school, college and university initiatives and host students. And we are members of XL vets; a community of like-minded independently owned veterinary practices. https://www.xlvets.co.uk/who-we-are
