We are hiring a Client Care Assistant (Receptionist)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Care Assistant to join the team working on reception at Fenton Vets. The position is based mainly from our Haverfordwest branch but will require some shifts to be worked at our Pembroke Dock branch. We have an amazing team of 11 Small Animal Vets, 9 Farm Animal Vets, 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Patient Care Assistants, 10 Client Care Assistants and not to forget the amazing Stock Team and Administrators.

Our working hours are 8:00am - 19:00pm Monday - Thursday, 8:00am to 18:00pm Friday and 8:00am to 1:30pm Saturday. You would need to be able to work a range of shifts within these hours.

The position is up to 37.5 hours per week.

As a Client Care Assistant we would expect you to be professional and efficient while giving a friendly service to our clients and their pets. Previous Veterinary reception experience would be preferred but is not essential to apply.

Main duties would include:-

• Greeting clients when arriving at the practice
• Answering phone calls and dealing with client queries
• Handling email enquiries efficiently
• Taking payments both in person and over the phone
• Booking appointments and managing the diary
• Keeping the reception area clean and tidy
• Financial reconciliation at the end of the day
• Dispensing medications as directed by the Veterinary Surgeon
• Promoting company initiatives
• Assist with other administrative tasks
• Providing services to both our small and farm clients

Essential Skills:-

• Excellent written and spoken English
• Customer services experience, ideally on reception
• Proven communication skills
• Full UK driving license
• Empathetic with good telephone skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team or independently
• Comfortable with multitasking, working under pressure and handling stressful situations
• Good time keeping and reliable
• Organised with a good attention to detail
• Good computer skills, ability to use practice management systems
